This house was for a Builder and his family who wanted a new dwelling to provide a statement residence to showcase his skills and commitment to detail. The original house was an unremarkable, much altered and dilapidated house that failed to respond to its corner park side position which enjoys water views and a northerly aspect.

 

The house is unashamedly a dramatic, with lots of natural light, double height volumes, stylish modern finishes and responds in a positive crucifix form in a bold and sophisticated manner to its location on a corner site which enjoys views through the corner of the double street frontage across the park to the bay.

 

This is a family home with distinct zones, significant outward views but still with privacy for its neighbours and occupants.

 

The house collaboration included Interior designer Linda Habak and remains a bold, modern and uncluttered family home that addresses its considered verdant garden.
